Some people posted up this scan of a DVD cover for a Japanese porn featuring cockroaches, and wondered where they could get a copy, and what it was all about. I figured this was the perfect opportunity to use my Japanese skills for the betterment of mankind!

While I didn't know most of the kanji on the cover, and thus couldn't do an accurate Google search (「ゴキブリ」 just means "cockroach", and yields lots of sites about people who like cockroaches in a non-sexual way), I did notice that the company that produced this DVD is SOFT DEMAND, as can be seen in the lower right hand corner on the back on the CD. SOFT DEMAND's site, at first, looked like a "respectable" (by North American standards) business site, perhaps for a television station, with (40 year old male) anchors (in business suits) and hosts and stuff, whose profiles you can view. When I randomly stumbled on a page that featured the text "18+" and 「はい」 and 「いいえ」, I knew I found what I had been looking for.

SOFT DEMAND's adult DVD section lets you browse their selections by date of release, genre, series, maker or ranking. Unfortunately, their site uses a lot of Javascript and cookies and is a bitch to navigate, and pretty difficult to trick it into letting itself get translated by web-translators. Luckily, they have a search box, so I just put 「ゴキブリ」 in there, and only two results come up. The first one is the cockroach DVD, properly titled 「～食虫少女2～　ゴキブリを喰う女」 which I'd translate as "~Insectivore Virgin 2~ Women Eating Cockroaches". This implies there was an "Insectivore Virgin 1", and the DVD description does mention that this is the second in a series, but I didn't see the first DVD on the site.

The other search result that came up is 「アンチ・ノーマルセックス」 which means "Anti-normal sex". That one looks like just a bunch of miscelaneous fetishes, something to do with "water, ice, lotion and soy sauce", some bondage, humiliation, violence, hair cutting and burning. In addition to bukkake, there seems to be Japanese fetishes I've never heard of like "anata", "binta" and "surikogi". "Cockroach" does appear in the description, but I'm not sure if it's eating cockroaches or what.

Anyway, for the curious, here's a translation of the genre list, from left to right, top to bottom. Maybe this is something those interested in Japanese porn should memorize (or at least bookmark) as a handy translation guide?
